The Strategy Board is part of RWTH’s governance structure and advises the University in its strategic planning. An important advisory body to the Rectorate and the RWTH faculties, the Board supervises the implementation of the University’s strategic principles and provides important impetus to the development of visions for the future.
The main responsibilities of the Strategy Board include:
- Structural and development planning for the University
- Implementation of the RWTH 2020 Strategy and further development of the Excellence Initiative
- Further development of JARA, the Jülich Aachen Research Alliance, and of collaborations with other partners.
As a result of the continuous development of the University’s strategy, the Excellence University proposal process, and the resulting adaptation of governance structures, the Strategy Board is currently being reconstituted.
In future, the Strategy Board will consist of the spokespersons for the Clusters of Excellence, representatives from the Profile Areas, as well as representatives of non-university partners and of the group of early-career researchers. Furthermore, the Strategy Board will be complemented by external members with international expertise.
